Basic rules of using our Trade Masters of Eve forum
Yes, it's maybe true, not many of us like a lot of rules imposed on us.
But, without some basic rules in place will be chaos and we can't accomplish anything, we can't make progress, we can't go in one direction, we can't focus on some goals, we can't maintain order and structure and all this, as well as many other side effects, are counterproductive for us as a team.
We want you to be successful in-game and in-forum, to have a pleasant experience, to be active and remain active.
We want to provide a safe and pleasant virtual environment fair for any and all members, so you can speak your mind, express your opinions, vote "For" or "Against" a proposal, an idea, so you, along with all of us can work as a team while having fun at the same time.
We want you, to be successful in-game, become stronger, more powerful and with you, all of us as a team, to become more successful in-game. And if we, each of us as a person, we learn something new from each other or we enrich our online experience in the process, build new friendships and have even more fun, then it's all even better.
We don't want you to be frustrated, to be upset, to be under stress or to have an unpleasant experience while spending your time with us, we don't want you to lose interest and give up, to become inactive and abandon us, the team or the game entirely.
As such, regardless if we want or not, if we like it or not, some basic rules are needed it.
Please take a moment to read, understand and accept those basic rules, we are confident you'll find them as reasonable and not out of line:
Basic rules
- Be courteous, respectful and polite to each other
- Be active, participate in-game and in-forum with your own contributions as you see the best fit for yourself and for the team.
- Participate in constructive debates, express your opinions, voice your ideas, be open and honest about any topic up for debate.
- We encourage active and constructive debates, with clear arguments to prove your point. We don't tolerate destructive debates or behavior aimed to offend, bully or humiliate another person.
- Do not engage in attacks aimed at one person, it's OK to attack with valid arguments an idea, a theme, a proposal, or any topic, subject up for debate, but it's not OK to attack directly a person, any of your teammates.
- Refrain and abstain from promoting or supporting extremist topics, themes, or ideas, like, but not limited to ideologies about fascism, communism, dictatorship, terrorism, fanatism and other similar topics.
- Do not engage in, or support any kind of discrimination, based on sex, race, age, national origin, ethnicity, geographical location, religion, political beliefs, creed, affiliations with a group, or other similar reasons for discriminations. It's OK to like more some groups or to dislike others, but it's not OK to discriminate against of a person or a group of people, especially without knowing them.
- Do not judge others, do not jump to conclusions, do not attempt to read minds or give twisted interpretations into something other members may say here in-forum in a comment, post or a debate. If you are unclear, or if you suspect hidden meanings, just ask them for more details, for more clarification, without judging.
- Feel free to report any suspicious with a malicious intent behavior you may witness if you feel strongly about it and you feel you are correct in your assessment to classify it as worthy to escalate it to an incident that needs more attention. However, in that case, make sure you have a clear justification, with valid arguments based on real facts, not on likes or dislikes, do not accuse a person, another member of our team, but present and point out clear facts.
- Communicate in English, try to be fast and efficient, clear and to the point, or any way you like it or feels comfortable to you, but please do it in English. We don't care much for spelling and/or grammatical errors, we are not majors in English literature, we don't aim to win the Nobel prize in English literature, many of us are not native English speakers, but either way, we all make an effort to communicate in English.
